Endodontics

Endodontist

An endodontist is trained in techniques to treat injuries or disease of the dental pulp (center of the tooth) and the tissues that surround the roots of teeth. If a tooth is found to have an unhealthy pulp, and endodontist can often treat the tooth with a root canal and save the tooth. In addition, endodontists are trained to provide surgical treatment should pulp disease spread to the bone and tissues outside of the tooth root.
